KFC potato wedges are gone. That’s right, no more chunky crispy potatoes seasoned with a special blend of herbs and spices straight from the fryer. Instead, the Colonel is saying buh-bye to the wedges for new fries, and wedge-lovers aren’t happy.
KFC confirmed with Business Outsider that french fries, will be replacing the classic side dish in stores within the next few weeks. KFC tested out the fries last year and saw a positive response.
“While we know there are wedge-lovers out there who may be disappointed, consumer response to our Secret Recipe Fries during the test and the rollout has been overwhelmingly positive,” a representative for KFC told Business Insider.
Customers have taken to social media to show their distaste for the chain’s new fries. Some have even started a petition online to bring the fried potato wedges back.
KFC is also testing out a new chicken sandwich that is 20% bigger than the original crispy chicken sandwich, so look out for that in the future.
